Brattleboro Pastoral Counseling Center
Meet the Board of Directors
A board of directors is the governing body of a non-profit organization. No one is born with the knowledge of how to be a good board member; it is an acquired skill that most of us learn through experience. The most important requirement for any board member is a strong commitment to the mission and vision of the organization and the desire to support it.
The Board of Directors work to ensure effective management of current income and protection of our accumulated assets. In addition to approving and overseeing the yearly budget, the board develops and executes plans for fundraising.
Good qualities in board members are: honesty, enthusiasm, having an open mind, are team players, are willing to tackle problems when needed, and most importantly have a sense of humor. There is no one size fits all for board members (Patterson,2006) .
Board members are elected for a three year term with an option to renew that membership for an additional three years. Our board meets on the second Thursday of each month at the First United Methodist Church on Putney Road. The meetings run from 3PM - 4:30PM.
The board leadership positions are President, Vice-President, Treasurer, and Secretary. We communicate between meetings mostly through emails.
Become a board member and be proud that you have the opportunity to serve an organization such as ours. For more information please contact us at bpccvt@gmail.com.
